Faithful reproduction of the cockpit in 1:1 scale

Years ago, FSC acquired 3 full cockpits stripped from real B737, B747 and A320. FSC engineers have them at their disposal in our headquarters, to create products as close as possible to the real things. Being able to access the original components all classows us to precisely evaluate controls response and feeling, and then re-engineer them to manufacture simulation products that really match the real controls in feeling and response.

As a result, we provide a full spectrum of simulation solutions, ranging from generic flight simulators to advanced FTD (Flight Training Devices).

Aside from airline pilots' and instructors' tips and advice, FSC benefits from consumer experience, often from people who are new to flight simulation.

Durability over time and resistance to intensive use

In a world where quality makes the difference, FSC is committed to ensuring that each product in the simulator is made with the best materials available on the market. Our mission is to offer not only items that are aesthetically faithful to the original but also functional and durable over time.

We design our products by focusing on both mechanical strength, for minimal periodic maintenance on the item, and resistance to intensive use by the end user.

Durability is one of our main priorities: our simulators are designed to withstand extreme conditions of use and to maintain their performance over time. We perform rigorous checks at every stage of production to ensure that the final tests meet the high standards we want to offer our customers.

Control Loading: it is possible to simulate real forces

The constant research in the development of new technologies has led the FSC engineering department to the creation of multiple high-tech mechanical and electronic products.

The control loading technology guarantees a realistic simulation of the forces on the controls, which vary based on:

- Aircraft speed.
- Wing loading.
- G acceleration.
- Trim value.
A fundamental aspect is the variable rudder trim, which faithfully reproduces conditions such as flight with one engine out, offering an experience without compromises.

Cutting-edge technology for unparalleled immersion

We provide cutting-edge PC systems, equipped with the most up-to-date and high-performance components available on the market; they are built respecting the customer's needs based on the software chosen in the initial development phase of the project.

The simulators are equipped with a visual system COTS PC-based, with multi-channel front projection, a frame rate of 60 Hz, and a horizontal field of view of 220° and vertical of 40°.

The angular resolution is around 550 microsteradian/pixel, ensuring exceptional visual quality and precise details essential for complex operations.

The visual system uses an optical blending technique to optimize dark management, a crucial aspect to ensure a realistic visual experience, especially during night flight operations.

Audio and communication

The audio and communication system is designed to offer an advanced and realistic simulation:

- Simulation of COM and NAV radios with a simplified frequency matching algorithm.
- Intercom and Public Address for simulated internal communications.
- Instructor role: Simulated radio communication with the aircraft via the Instructor Station.
- Each FTD seat is equipped with a complete headset (microphone, earphones, attachment system, connection cable and final jack).
- Cockpit speakers: Controlled by the audio system to reproduce the sounds indicated in the flight manual.

Interior cockpit lighting

The utmost attention to detail has also driven us to develop the professional lighting system that allows the pilot to faithfully manage the brightness inside the cockpit just as it happens in reality.

The simulators include complete management of the cockpit interior lighting, with all the light points reproduced exactly as in the original aircraft. The power supply of the lights depends on the AC generator, faithfully replicating the behavior of the aircraft's electrical system.

The cabin lights have been designed to minimize visual fatigue and ensure maximum comfort for the crew.

Lighting management in night flight

During night flight, cockpit lighting plays a crucial role in instrument visibility and pilot concentration. Simulators have precise adjustments for the different phases of night flight, including instrument brightness reduction, flood light management and progressive light adaptation to avoid glare.

Emergency lights

Emergency lighting is fully simulated to reproduce realistic scenarios, allowing crew training in operating procedures in critical conditions. In the event of an electrical failure, the emergency lighting system comes into operation, replicating the same dynamics present in the real aircraft, ensuring complete training even for total blackout situations or poor visibility conditions.

Circuit Breakers: faithful reproduction

The simulators include all operational circuit breakers, fully functional. The number of breakers varies according to the type of aircraft simulated:

- About 150-200 for Liner simulators.

The panels are faithfully reproduced, with the circuit breakers positioned exactly as in the real aircraft, ensuring maximum consistency with the operational experience of the aircraft.

The circuit breakers used in the simulators are real breakers and can also be activated or deactivated from the Instructor Station. This functionality allows you to simulate failures and perform advanced training sessions for ground maintenance technicians.

Advanced flight model

The Nonlinear 6 DoF (Degree of Freedom) flight model is fully configurable in the following aspects:

- Flight control system

- Aerodynamics

- Propulsion

- Landing gear configuration

Main features:
- Rotation effects: Modeled Coriolis and centrifugal accelerations.
- Oblate spheroid shape: Geodetic coordinates according to the WGS84 system.
- Realistic atmosphere: Based on the International Standard Atmosphere (ISA 1976), with representation of temperature, pressure and humidity.
- Dryden Turbulence Model: Turbulence simulation.
- NASA Glenn Icing Model: Simulation of the effects of ice formation.

Professionalism and reliability

FSC has an efficient and proven structure with numerous organized departments. Areas equipped for the production, assembly and testing of simulators, a service and repair laboratory, a large and organized warehouse, a specialized IT department, a department for 3D/2D graphic design.

A strong point is the FSC assistance, designed to guarantee continuity of service:

- Technical support via e-mail, telephone and remote sessions.

- Rapid shipment of vital components within 24 hours, essential to minimize downtime.

This assistance is particularly important for customers with students coming from other cities or countries, who need a simulator that is always operational. It is essential to avoid the loss of the already programmed schedule and to guarantee the lowest possible machine downtime. This level of reliability distinguishes FSC as a leader in technical and management of operational support.
